Please check the orchestra calendar to the right for the January rehearsal schedule. Rehearsals are from 3:30-5:00 PM. Additionally, there is a mandatory meeting for all orchestra members and their parents on Thursday, January 14th at 7:00 PM in the orchestra room. Please mark your calendars now.

Monday and Wednesday rehearsals will be full orchestra and are considered mandatory. Thursday rehearsals will be for sectionals and coaching session. This sectional schedule will be determined and posted based upon our progress prior to Winter Break. Students are strongly encouraged to attend sectional rehearsals, but these rehearsal will not be considered mandatory. I would like to stress that it is imperative for every member of this orchestra to attend every Monday and Wednesday rehearsal.

If you have any conflicts, please address them now. It is your responsibility to make arrangements with coaches, club sponsors, work, or any other potential conflicts. If something is unavoidable, see me.

It is a tremendous honor for us to have been chosen to perform at GMEA, but being selected was only one part of the plan. Now we have to step up and show GMEA what we are all about and that we deserve to be there. January will be a very busy month for all of us, but I assure you….the results will be worth the effort.

Congratulations to our orchestra students that represented Hillgrove at the Cobb County Honor Orchestra Concert and the Georgia Youth Symphony Concert this past weekend. I went to the Honor Orchestra concert on Saturday night and it was amazing!

5:00PM – 6:45PM Dinner – Entertainment provided by the Lost Mountain and Lovinggood Orchestras.
7:00PM – Hillgrove Orchestras Holiday Concert

Tickets $15.50 for patrons / $9.50 for performers. Tickets must be purchased by Nov. 20th from any Hillgrove orchestra student. No tickets available at the door. As always, admission to the concert is free to all.

Dinner catered by Macaroni Grill

Choose from:
Pasta Milano
(Bow tie pasta with tender grilled chicken, and sun dried tomatoes in a roasted garlic sauce)
OR
Spaghetti and Meatballs
All dinners include a salad, bread, tea, and cake.
Served in the cafeteria from 5:00pm—6:45pm

Concert uniforms and orchestra polo shirts were delivered today.  Students may pick up their uniforms tomorrow (Tuesday).  Please try on your uniform to make sure it fits…dresses will likely need to be hemmed.  Try to do this before the concert on Thursday if possible.
