Bruster’s Coupon Booklet Sale
Students Final Opportunity to
Earn $$$ for the Spring Trip
Orchestra students have one final opportunity to earn money for the Williamsburg/Washington D.C. spring trip by selling Bruster’s Coupon Booklets. The booklets sell for $10 and have 10 buy-one-get-one-free coupons which are good at any Bruster’s location and have no expiration date. Booklet sales will begin on March 1st and end on March 14th. Every booklet sold will have $5 credited to the applicable student’s account.
To participate, check or money order must be received for the number of booklets you want your student to be given (example: 3 booklets require a $30 check). The check/money order will be held until March 14th at which time the money from the booklets sold as well as any unsold booklets will be due. If full payment or unsold booklets are not received on March 14th, the check or money order will be deposited. Checks should be made payable to the Hillgrove Orchestra Booster Club and dropped in the mailbox in Mr. Doke’s office. The mailbox will be checked every Monday and Thursday beginning 2/28 with booklets distributed to students the following day beginning on 2/29.
Good luck and thank you for your support!

Congratulations on Outstanding Festival Performances!
For the second consecutive year both of the Hillgrove Orchestras have earned overall “SUPERIOR” ratings at the GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation! Comment from the judges included:
- ”Beautiful tone…”
- “Challenging opener…Extremely tough…requires extreme discipline to prepare this piece. Good job!”
- “You are excellent musicians…”
At the beginning of the school year, we set a goal of playing difficult music at festival and earning ’superior’ ratings. It sure is a great feeling to have met our goals, and I am very proud of all of you. Congratulations on a job well-done! Go Hawks!
Festival Date Clarification
Just to be sure everyone knows…Chamber Orchestra will perform on TUESDAY, February 12 at 7 PM in the McEachern Theater. Students will provide their own transportation and need to arrive at McEachern by 6 PM to check in. We should be finished by 8:30.
Pre-Festival Concert Information
Orchestra Students and Parents, Tonight’s Orchestra Concert will begin at 7:30 due to an unforseen scheduling conflict. There is a class ring ceremony taking place in the theater from 6:30-7:00. Please plan to arrive around 7:15 for the Orchestra concert. Park in the side parking lot and come in through the door on the Orchestra side of the building (right side if you are looking at the front of Hillgrove). If you arrive prior to the end of the ring ceremony, please wait outside the hallway by the Orchestra room. At the conclusion of the ring ceremony we will get started with the concert, which should last no more than an hour. Students should arrive at 6:30, dressed and ready to warm up. See you tonight!Mr. Doke
