Volunteers Still Needed for Big Chicken Chorus Shows

I hope everyone had a wonderful, restful holiday.

As you know, the Big Chicken Chorus will perform this Friday and Saturday at the Hillgrove Theater. The BCC gave us the opportunity to raise money by giving us $5 from every ticket sold. To date, we have only sold 43 tickets for them. However, people will still be able to purchase before the show and at the door. If you have people that may buy at the door, make sure that they tell the ticket person that they heard about the show from a Hillgrove student.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO WORK AT ALL SHOWS and donations of baked goods. TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE ORCHESTRA, WE ARE SELLING CONCESSIONS AT ALL THREE SHOWS. Shows are Friday at 8pm, Sat. at 3pm and 8pm. We need ushers to help seat people, people to work in concessions (there is an intermission) and general clean-up after the show. So far I have 3 volunteers that are not on the HOBC board. I only have 2 offers of baked goods for the show.

If you can help, please email me asap and reference BCC (all county email from outside is quarantined, so this way I’ll know who the email is from). We are raising funds so that the orchestras can play at Festival, have a nice end of the year banquet, pay for Hillgrove Letters earned, and hopefully, at some point, help out with uniforms. We need your help to make this successful.

I look forward to your reply.
Thanks,

Cindy Ford

Chamber Orchestra to Perform at the Governor’s Mansion

The Hillgrove Orchestra was recently invited to perform at the Georgia Governor’s Mansion as part of the annual Mansion Holiday Tour. Our performance will be on Thursday, December 7th between 11:45 and 1:00. Unfortunately, the performance area has limited space, so we will only be taking a small group of 12 students. However, we will be representing the entire program while we are there! We are already building a reputation as a fine program. Way to go!

Cobb Symphony Concert This Weekend

The Cobb Symphony Orchestra will be performing Brahms’ German Requiem this weekend at the Dozier Center for Performing Arts. This is going to be a great concert featuring two full choirs, and I would like to encourage you to attend. Saturday night is close to being sold out, but there are tickets still available for Sunday afternoon at 3 PM. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cobbsymphony.org. Hope to see you there!

Cobb Honor Symphony Performance

Congratulations to Jordan Thomas and all students from around Cobb County on their exceptional performance last Satuday night at the Dozier Center. Jordan did a great job of representing Hillgrove at the Honor Symphony…be sure to congratulate him when you see him!
