Congratulations Jordan Thomas!
Congratulations to Hillgrove Orchestra member Jordan Thomas for being accepted to the 2006 Cobb County Honor Orchestra. Jordan is one of eight bassists that were selected after auditioning for the Honor Orchestra on October 3rd. Jordan will be performing with the Honor Orchestra on Saturday, November 11th at The Dozier Center. Way to go Jordan!
Miami String Quartet to Perform at KSU Stillwell Theater - Hillgrove Orchestra Students Offered Discounted Tickets!
The internationally acclaimed Miami String Quartet will be in concert this Saturday, October 7 at 8 PM at the KSU Stillwell Theater. Regular ticket prices for this concert are $30.00. As a special invitation from KSU, members of the Hillgrove Orchestra Program are being offered tickets at a discounted price of only $8.00. To reserve your tickets, please call the Stillwell Theater Box Office at 770-423-6650 and tell them that you are a member of the Hillgrove High School Orchestra.
In addition to the Saturday evening performance, there will also be an open masterclass held by members of the quartet at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 8. KSU Professor of Violin Helen Kim has coordinated a class of string students who will work with the Miami String Quartet in an open-to-the-public forum. The class is free of charge and will last approximatley 90 minutes. Both the concert and the masterclass will take place in the KSU Stillwell Theater.
